Is it right to control your effects by hand (instead of 'Edit Events') ?
Imo it's much easier and faster than the events .
But maybe a bit less perfect.
For example:

You want low end for the bassline :
Play the song ; push the record button ; go to some cut-knob 'n twist'em down by feeling ; then back the record button off.

What do u guys/girls use for handling the FX ?

Recording the events is indeed much easier and faster then editing them all, certainly if you have a midi-interface. Usually I record first, then use the edit to finetune where needed.
Also, if you want to edit multiple faders/knobs at the same time, You can do one at a time and just record again to add the second one.

unless there's a need for a moving cut sweeping in rhythem to the tune, or soemthing, i usually draw it. delay's are a bit different you need to have your hand on it to know how to keep it going....

but mostly it all an be drawn.

I use the RECORD button and record my events which I previously planned, and if something comes up not as I wanted it, I polish it in EDIT EVENTS.
This helps alot.

I just draw all mine out, works just fine, and I can make the (almost) exact curves I was looking for. It's also good for making really sharp adjustments.
