I did some speed optimisations today, the server was now often reaching 100% CPU so it was time to do it. If anyone notices any problems write them here!
BTW the summer season has started and I have precious little time atm. I will only be here for a few hours a week to do some maintenance and answering PMs until the end of September.

ok, seems to work better than expected, the CPU usage is down to an average of 8% with plenty of people online
Seems like we're not in need of a new server yet

it should be back up to the old speed again, from before the forum update. It's hard to tell with a broadband connection, I think it feels a bit faster too, but that's very subjective. Main thing is that the CPU usage has dropped drastically. And the site is definitely not slow

before the update, teh loading (in that blue stuff under in the browser) went first slow, and after a second or so, boom it was full and a second after you're on the ppage

I didn't notice anything at all - same speed... not slow, though
it was fast before also
