Hehe you don't consider Infected Mushroom to be just your regular dance music do you?
When I think of 'dance' I think of eurotrance and commercial house, and defo not psytrance
OK it's dance music alright, but not for the masses...

I haven't reviewed the track yet so here goes...
Like your other dance track this has major phasing problems. You like your sounds to have a very wide stereo effect, but you have to be very careful with this, since if you make them too wide they are out of phase, which makes it sound thin and unsubstantial.
It's fine to make lead and background sounds wide by adding chorus, phasers or spatial enhancers to them (to a certain degree
) but the basses and kick drum should be solidly in the centre.
Ok enough ranting about that, let's get down to the track itself...
It's definitely somewhere inbetween genres. I don't feel goa/psytrance influences in it (although you cite Infected Mushroom as an influence) but it is trancey alright. If I have to compare this to any goa producer it should be Yahel, he likes those long stretched lead lines with lots of variation too
Rhythmic patterns are inbetween electro and techno of the early 90's. Syncopating bass is eurotrance style.
The melody in the introduction is electro too.
The way you play the lead sound reminds me of the early 90's demo scene and game music.
hehe I found a description!! This track is definitely >Retro Electrotrance<
The track is very enjoyable but the phasing is driving me nuts, fix that OK

thanks for the tip chronic. Yeah I added some global stereo effect like nuts on this one. It sounds good to me, but I guess that's a no-no. Maybe I'll cool that down in the future.
Retro Eurotrance... It's funny, I listen to like a couple dozen techno bands and thats it. I don't normally like much cause it's too happy or too repetative or something just gets on my nerves. I would never have placed what genre Miss Chicken is in, so thanks, I'll use that one in the future.
BTW, kinda big news I mentioned in the Evil Villain post http://www.drumnbass.be/forum/thread.php?threadid=551&sid=
I hope it leads somewhere! The whole business aspect of music makes me nervous.

Just don't use it on the entire track, but only on selected elements
