look dont get me wrong i dont believe cracked software does anyone any good.neither the companies or musicians in the long run. but what really pisses me off is when someone brings out some software and they give you a demo where the sound drops out or you get a high pitched squeel, or when they disable something like exporting sound (oi!!!! propellerheads!!!!) or saving.......how do i know the export quality is going to be what im after?!?!?!?!? etc etc etc whinge whinge whinge.....why should i spend my hard earned cash on something when i dont know its capabilities or limitations meet my needs.
fuck em!!!! ive paid for a lot of software.....then all of a sudden the companies brought out an update which is gonna cost me another £100....its a wind up innit!?!?!?!! companies should take a leaf out of native instruments book......and offer high quality user libraries and free gifts/software at christmas.....etc etc etc. then people might actually contemplate buying their product......and if they update ot two weeks later why should we pay more.......aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh.
try before buy has to be my favourite motto right now

'Try before you buy' is definitely my way of thinking at the moment. If I use a piece of software a lot then ill buy it and if I ever had something released using a piece of software then id buy it.

Reaktor does take a long time to get used to but the sounds you can get out of it are unreal. Its far more than a synth building program.
I do entire live sets using Reaktor4, Mixing, live programing of drum beats as well as effects. It knocks the shit out of ableton. You can even go as far as getting youre computor to wite music on its own, which can sound really random but always has weird atmosphere and vibe about it. If you have the time Reaktor is definately worth spending time on, as it'll give you a much better understanding of how other synths and effects actually work.

yea so.... albeton just made a fucking synth a few months back. so i doubt that a modular synth that's already in a 5th version can blow that out of the water.
maybe more compariable to tassman. or synthedit.
reaktor does have great sound, i just got it, and ya, AMAZING. wavetables, amazing quality, bbah, more than most synths alone, but the bitch is levrything ya need....

The point is that Ableton is lorded up as the greatest live tool ever but Reaktor can do everything it does and a tonne of other stuff too.
And if youre gonna get real arsey about it. untill 3 months ago i was using Reaktor 2.3 which was out before ableton even existed.
Plus Live version 5 is out soon too, And it can still suck my arse. The people who rate it so much are the kind of people who need quick and easy solutions as supposed to working out a much better alternative for themselves

i have used 3, 4 and now 5.
5 is by farth the most useful. The upgraded Fruity Slicer, makes it a pleasure to use drum loop samples. for dnb, i couldn't imagine using anything else....

ALBETON, can be used to RUN Reaktor.
it's like comparing a Honda Civic to 16'' Speakers.
albeton is great for laptop preformace because it can route multipule artist of both live audio and midi conection and keep it going in syncwith a world timeclock.
Reaktor makes weird noises.
now picture albeton on a few laptops, guitars on one, durmmer on another, and synth/midi on a third. the synth/midi could be running reactor.
i don't know where you got the idea that albeton even DOES synth.
you're comparing apples to oranges, i am afraid.
Albeton Operator, is there only Synth.
Albeton Live is a Sequencer. like Fruity Loops or Reason. Just it cannot form a synthesis. |
I kinda get the impresion that you argue for the sake of arguing whether you really kinow what you are talking about or not.
Reaktor can make weird noises.
It can also create synthesis.
It can also be used as a seqencer.
It can also manipulate samples in ways that nothing else can.
But the point I'm am making is that it can also perform live control and evrything you can do in ableton....and better.
Have you ever actually used reaktor for anything other than the pre made synths. I somehow doubt it.
Ive tried ableton and got frustrated with it fairly quickly. The time stretching is arcane and inadequate for decent live work.
I'll admit that it can take a lot of hours to get to grips with, but the possibilities are nigh on infinite
whereas with ableton, when u have a problem u cannot simply open it up and rearrange the workings, you to buy another VST to get what you want.
