Beyond Dub,

Intro is too long with not enough going on. Drums are a bit low in the mix. The beat is cool though.

I'm at 2.30 now and the tune is getting a bit repetative. Maybe a different vocal sample or varying the bass loop would help. Also the bass isnt coming ou very well on my system - i've got my sub cranked up but it lacks the kind of power i'd expect from a dub bass.

This is definietly not a 'usual' drum and bass track - which is by no means a bad thing. I think the track has potential but more variation is needed. It also lacks a sense of coherence - like towards the end of the track - 6.00 - i dont understand musically how the tune has progressed and developed.

Dub definitely seems to be the flavour of the moment amongst dnb producers. Think i might try some myself. Can you recommend and Dub Sample packs?

cheers for checkin, but i found the sub too loud today checkin on a large system.

Dub 'sample packs' i wouldn't know, I've been buying dub for years.

This isn't a 'new thing' dub in dnb, it's been there for years, just popularised now.

Digitals Dubzilla album was a highlight after years of progression.

Anyway Bigup

Yeah man, thats what I meant - it seems to me that theres been an explosion of dub in Drum and Bass, I went to my record store this weekend and DnB/Dub was everywhere. I've only just started to get into Dub, so dont know that much about it - but i'll chck that out.

Its hard to explain what I meant about the 'power' of the bass - but to make a crude comparison in the dub i've heard and like (a track like iration steppas 'takin bout jah love') the bass just sounds really meaty and hardcare, its not necessarily about louder or quiter. It sounds quite sine like - but im lying if I say i can get anywhere near that kind of power ou of my bass lines

Anyawy, cool track,
