I have a Tornado GeForce 4 graphics card, and it doesn't support Pixel Shaders. Has anyone of you any information about a DirectX patch or some program which would add this pixel shading by software emulation?

its a feature of newer graphic cards.. it's a lie basically, you don't need it, games and other 3d looks the same with or without them.

wtf?
pixar movies = disney movies
they dont use them, lol, the software uses them (3d studio, maya)..
half life 2 is the most boring game! looks dope but is boring..
but lets not make a rant

Disney just releases the Pixar movies. Pixar is an independant animation studio which just happened to have been picked up by Disney so they can release their movies. And they DO use pixel shading in their movies, they were actually one of the first companies to use it. Toy Story, Nemo, you know the ones. They use SOFTWARE to make those movies, and they use pixel shading in order to gain a certain sense of realistic lighting features and textures.

pixel shading is like an absolute necessity if you want 3d animation/graphics to look good enough. it's just that nowadays graphic cards have the technology to use pixel shading (well, actually a REALLY weak form of it) in real-time rendering thus giving today games that spectacular look.
you were absoulutely right about the pixar - disney connection tho

I guess it's a matter of taste, loved the second version. First one was a bit better tho, probably becuz it wasn't so ovehryped...

Pixar actaully wrote their own rendering system called renderman... it's Sweeeettt

yes. HALPH-LIFE 2 may suck, but it's mostly a base for other game-creators to use, like, the GREATEST online game there is, with more people playing than the other 3 highest games combined, COUNTER-STRIKE.
counter-strike would not have came out if not for halph-life.
halph-life is just a great game for online games, but not even the HL game itself, but all the other free ones, varaiety. even if you think the solo sucks.
it allows people to code there own shaders.

ok,
for me, CS is a gay game, if a game could at all be gay, than CS is. I mean, it all summons to staying in a corner, aiming with a sniper through a tiny hole through the boxes or whateva till you spot and shoot the other guy who got annoyed and went out of cover before you did..
it had a good perspective, but people are people and they make a mess out of everything thats popular.
