live is ment to be used with hardware, beseides that, all i want is a better midi drum in it, and better ways to cut drum loops. other than that Albeton is amazing, just not for dnb.

lol.you only recommend hardware.!?!?!?!?! hardware is dying a very slow and painful death.....the virtual domain is kicking its ass.......the only hardware worth buying now is classic stuff, like an old neve desk maybe.......or some nice valve eq or compressors. anything else can be done better and is more convenient from a computer.
and live doesnt need to be used with hardware at all, and its a piece of piss to program in.......and why the fuck cant you make dnb with it!?!?!?!? its a million times better than fruity loops imo.....not as good as cubase though.

yeh, offcoarse, i'm just a lousy poser
no, imagine a studio.
there's more inside than only a computer, a midi controller, and some recording stuff, now is it?
ah, indeed, in a studio, hardware IS NEEDED!!!
but tastes are different offcoarse..

then get a cool-looking midi controler, yet better several of them, your studio would look hardware but it would all be software.

er.no.
hardware isnt needed....many just mix all within the computer now....
only hardware you need is a decent stereo soundcard, and a desk.....and you will probably only use two channels on the desk now anyway., monitors, headphones. yes some hard synths are nice......but at the end of the day your going to have to record into the computer at some point.......its not always worth the hassle.i can get any sound i want out of absynth.reaktor, albino,fm7, z3ta, vanguard, kontakt, etc etc etc ...and i dont have to piss around re wiring my entire house to do it.

yeh im not disputing that.......but do you want to spend the rest of your life saving money to get something thats gonna be obsolete in ten years time, and something that you cant really upgrade, and something you need a decent expensive (more money!!!!) soundcard to record properly.........wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! software is cheaper (sometimes free!!!!
) and can now do things at a better quality and do more things in general then hardware!!!!!!!!!!!
up until two or three years ago i would have agreed with you, but things have changed massively........soft is the present and future. maybe with some midi hardware. its getting better everyday

You have to upgrade software every 3 years so I think hardware has more value in the long run .
Buy a vintage analoge synth , sell it ten years from now and you will get your money back inflation included ( this means that they are free!!!! ) . Buy a software synth , try to sell it a week later and gone is your money .
I have lots of hardware stuff and lots of software stuff . The software only gets used if there isn't any hardware left .
Hardware is here to stay and will still be here in ten years time .
Software is annoying . Hardware is fun . ( having fun is a primary goal in my life )
Greetings Dirk .

a computer alone can get the job done, but what fun is playing qwerty all day.youve got to have some type of controllers for real interaction.firewire and usb controllers are really worth the money as long as you get a good one.
