From the start? Take the amen, chop it up, take the tighten up, chop it up. Reprogram and layer, pitch up or down to taste, add some filtering, EQing and distortion...

Ok fellas, here it is.
How to make a Spamen.
Ingredients:
1 bar of the drum solo from the song "Amen Brother" by The Winstons
1 bar of the drum solo from the song "Tighten Up" by The James Brown Orchestra
Ok, now there is a single bar in each of those drum solos, where the snares, and bassdrums match up perfectly. The pattern is as follows:
|B|D|_|_|S|D|_|_|_|_|B|D|_|_|S|D|
Those are the bars we are looking for. If any of you are having any problems, IM me and I will tell you the exact bar count from the beginning of the drum solo. (Edit: Also, if any of you are having difficulties finding high quality files of these drum solos, I can also supply those to you.)
Now, these two drum solos are not at the same pitch, or the same tempo, so now we're going to have to match them. I would recommend using Reason for this for several reasons: you can have both beats playing at once, using the NNXT sampler you can make incredibly simple pitch adjustments, you can attach distortion (recommended), eq's, and filtering to each beat, while you're mixing them, realtime. This can also be done in Fruity, but I would recommend Reason for the Scream 4 distortion unit (The "tube" setting is nominal for beefing the Tramen.)
I would recommend doing it this way, as opposed to Surya's way, simply for the fact that once you have the total Tramen created, you only have to work with one set of samples. I agree, this does prevent you from doing realtime effects to each individual break.......and if this is truly what you're looking for......then once you match your beats, just use each individually.
I hope this has been helpful!!

Matching beats is piece of cake in Fruity, BTW ->
add every sample to a new slicer channel - it matches automatically to the current beat. You can also modify the calculated value if you consider it false.

This was the answer I was looking for! Thanks! I don't like to steal others samples. I'd rather do it from the start.
Why is someone calling it spamen, while others calling it tramen?
