The AKAI reel-to-reel machine will give you loads of analog warmth, and if you use a fresh tape, set the audio levels properly and clean the heads it will give you no hiss. Try it, you will be astounded of the increase in sound quality
A new tape for it costs less than $2 and a bottle of cleaning alcohol for $1, so you have nothing to lose
The pro versions of this thing (2 track 1/4 inch as opposed to 4 track 1/4 which your machine is) are still used in mastering studios today. They are completely hiss free BTW.

bass comes out very good on my casettes i record...high tones not.
woooow, fuckin shit went to the city to see if they had those reels overthere, and the only ones they've got cost a mutha fuckin 38€...
guess i'll have to buy them trough Thechronic's linkie..
