lol.
depends who you are..........
just contemplate how much a vinyl single is........then think about how much the shop takes, how much the distributor takes, then the label, then its you (depending on the contract you signed)........hmm, if your lucky enough to sell a thousand copies, you might make aorund that in good old GBP. if your lucky.........but then think of it realistically.......there might have been three months work go into those tracks, and you could have made them a year and a half ago, these things often take along time to happen. and you might not see the money for another six months........ so as a form of employment, for someone starting out its not gonna be good enough to pay your bills (this bits for all you grown ups!!!). unless your one of the big djs........kaaachiiiiing!!!
but i suppose the upside is if your selling records/signed to a label then you have yet another string to your bow in order to promote yourslf more as a dj.
so the money comes from your dj ing......but a lot of these producers are releasing music of different types in different scenes, all under different names......and many of them work in studios, if only to gaurentee a regular paycheck...........
what would you rather do????work in tescos, or do something you enjoy??? even if it does mean making RnB.

Idd, most of us produce because we enjoy making music (very much
). Not because we want to get rich with it. And you certainly shouldnt start producing to make loads of money
