- for internet: a pc with soundcard that has a line input, a proggie that does broadcasts, and a shitload of upstream bandwith.
- for FM: An FM modulator, a HF amplifier and a bigass antenna. It is illegal to broadcast on any of the official (read: receivable by other people with a radio) radio frequencies without a license though, so that's not really an option. In case you wanna try anyway, the BIPT or whatever it is called nowadays can trace you much faster than you think

yeh they can trace u quickly, but thats why you move around, every day!!!!! only problem is if you want to make it worth your while you need a fuck off big antenna, which isnt easy to hide.

My thoughts exactly, there is no way you will get a new license in Belgium because the entire spectrum is allready over-packed. Only way to get a broadcast is making a deal with some local radio station. And usually they allready have the equipment, so that won't be a problem then. If somehow you can pull it of (some other station just quit, which would be the only possibility i think), you also need a licensed radio technician to setup and maintain all your equipment? (That's mandatory!) So find one of those fellas and ask him where to get the equipment.

It must be different in America, because we get pirate radio broadcasts all the time.

do it mate . . . we got a load here in england aswell. as long as you sort of keep the swearing and subversive stuff down, then generally the radio people are fairly happy to turn i blind eye im told.
will take a lot of organising though, but hell, thatss one way tobecome a big wheel in your scene without any talent. if you start a succesful show, you'll get linked up nicely. pipe dreams though i suspect

what i heard about pirate radio was to put an antenna in the chimney of a block of flats, attach a md or dat player to it (with the neccesary equipment in between). So to play recorder show without to much risk of beeing caught.

lol, dude, they can pinpoint the signal if its on FM, if it's not heard, then whats the point of broadcasting???
they know, but as broadside said, could turn a blind eye, it all depends.
anywayz he said he took care for the licence..
