Hey guys, just wondering, when I made a track that was only about 16 seconds, I went to File - Export Song ... and saved it as a .wav, it was 3 megabytes! 3 Megs for 16 Seconds is hardly fair. Anyways, anybody know of a way to save it as MP3 or reduce the file size?

Thanks! Big Grin Dingers

mind the difference between 'save as loop' (which is from L to R-locator) and 'save as song' (which is from the beginning till the very end = E-locator)

why not, 3megs is about 16 seconds if the record rate is at a higher setting (96 khz and/or 24 bit encode)

??

wav = 3mb (could be)
mp3 = 3kb (could be)

it' all a matter of compression

so far in the time i've used reason (started recently but i can admit i've excelled pretty fast at it, especially when compared to what i expected), i've exported as a .wav, but then opened the wav in programs like SoundForge or Creative WaveStudio to convert to mp3, but i think (definitely depending on what settings) that doing this with soundforge alters quality negatively....
:/
just a simple way to do it.
i'm searching the net now to see if there's a plug-in or something where i can have the option of .wav or .mp3 (etc)...
