Please check out my new track 'Giant Leap' and post your comments here!!!

This is my first complete DnB track. It's not a 100% finished, but I got tired of it and decided to start some new projects. I used it to learn the basics of the software.

This song is sort of an atmospheric techy DnB track. Hope u like it.

Any comments on how to improve are welcome!

Hi! Happy

Bin a while since i downloaded a new track,
made this rule to myself: when i do always
post a comment, so here it is, from a listeners
point of view:

I like the 'atmospheric sphere' on this track, especially
the 'pling-plong-pling' thing underneath with echo/delay.
The beats, sound and flow is very well balanced and so
smooth. The break/dropdown is a bit like you're finally
introducing the darker/harder techy/steppy part of it.
Imo i think there are many listeners waiting for
a build up in mid section to a harder darker style?

But listening over and over i'm not so sure of that..
It's just a beautiful track, leave it but; i think it deserves
a nicer outro part!

Funny that i saw the full moon last night in it's full glory
surrounded by mysterious clouds (working in my nightshift
in hospital) this track really fits in that image!
Hope the moon is showing up again tonight!

I Like it!

first of all: good start!!

i also like the 'pling-plong-pling' thing Smile
the atmosphere is good. Nice synth pads but there is this "mondharmonica" sound that i dont like. It reminds me to much of cowboys and clint eastwood.

the bad news: the drums need some work.. i think some shakers (or something else cymbals/hi-hats/...) under the mainrythm would give it more power and depth. Or try some breaks on the background.

it sounds too programmed especially the "ta - ta - ta tatarara" (like in the end).

keep it up! im already looking forward to some new stuff

listened to it, 1:43 uuuuuhm nah I don't like that melody...
you've put too much reverb on the drums and you probably used the default drumkits... I'd suggest to chop drumloops to one-hit samples and then rearrange them in your program. I really like this song 'till 1:43 man, really nice, but then this ... reece? it kinda f***s up tha track mate... As for the drums: maybe add some ghost snares to fill 'm up a bit.
If this is your first track you made: bigup
If this is just your first post: ... erm... dunno... bigup eitherways lol
Greetz!
ugghhh gotta get some sleep...
OHYEA you should do something about the abrupt ending Bigup

Thx for all the comments so far guys! Really appreciate it. Bigup

The drumkit isn't default, but it only consists of 2 different samples. Just wanted to keep things simple for my first track Wink
There are hihats in the song, maybe I should turn them up a lil, becuz noone seems to be noticing them Big Grin
The ending is so abrupt because the track ain't finished yet. I was planning on adding one more atmospheric part and then an outro with drums. But, nah, to lazy.

You have a few of the basic ideas down, One thing I noticed it can use a bit of is layers. A heavier bass on top of a high pitches synth work well... Just an idea... I usually don't add reverb to drumz, I think the snare would sound better if it was a little fuller and minus the echo. If you add a good reverb to your synth you can create enough depth for you track..... Cheers! Z
