same with me .... altho now i have a lot of time during the day , there are some reasons holding me back (personnaly) of attempting to produce or dj ( or mc for that matter : my voice wouldnt mix well with dnb , plus the fact that i hate singing ofcourse )
1) I dont have a decent pc or programs to do it

4) i have NO idea where to start , where to get inspiration .... it would prolly come by itself after a time....
if i could choose , i would prolly go dj'ing faster than i would start producing .....
Another reason i think men like it better , is becoz it is something genetically determined : men just like shiny things (like cars) and buttons they can press
makes em feel in control or something ??? I don't know why , but it is as it is ....
there are ofcourse always exceptions .....

ok ladies i cant explain HOW you do it.....your gonna have to just do what most people do and learn the tricks yourselves.....
but in terms of the software........im sure we can help you there......not everything costs money......

Didnt I read in another thread that you play piano? you could take some d & b drumloops & bassloops & record yourself playing some piano parts over the top. The might be a nice way get to in to it & get used to using sequencing software
