hey guys.... just curious.... whats the number one vst to get those awesome dnb hoover/bass action...?
id like a copy of hydra but cant find it... any other ones worth getting??

the refx juno x2 can make analog sounding hoovers really well; they sound like they came straight out of the alpha juno hardware. course, as a downside, u can't tweak the pitch envelope to make that spiraling down hoover effect, you jus got to render a sample of a long note and mess with the envelope then. makes pretty good reeces too. altho it dont have amazing sound quality. u can probly make more than half of the sounds in the ravesounds pack on this site with it. it has a special filter which can do some cool shit. just a little hard to understand tho, u gotta tweak around a lil and understand what knob will do what, you know?

a reece is the wobbly bass sound that you hear in many tunes. a simple one is easy to make.
it was invented by one of the early junglists, alexander reece. ever heard "pulp fiction"? that's him.
How to produce a decent reece???

lfo on the PW or wave size, if you cn't hook the LFO to the PW, you can't get a cool sounding warble, and that rocks for almost all synths now n days.
gives it some flux even on a solid note without chaning the pitch or loudness.

vangraurd isnt good for reece..or hoovers...maybe some sweeping pads..but vangaurd was made for trance...and its ssounds are dated anyway...
use alino 2...its pretty ncie when coming to creating your own reece/hoovers

and in general...the bassbox is, altho not a huge improvement, a lot better than the reece machine. in fact, the reece machine is just ass imo.
and to bring up somethin from the very start of the thread, the synapse hydra, i feel, is only an expanded version of junglist. i mean, it has most of the junglist presets on it and everything!
