Interview by Earwaks
Saturday May 14, 2005

On Saturday April 9th 2005, Loaded Saturdays at Toronto’s System Soundbar presented yet another night of solid beats, good vibes and influential headlining guest DJs. This night featured the likes of drum & bass pioneer Photek, and internationally-acclaimed turntablist duo Mixologists. Once again, Earwaks was there to get the goods with two in-depth guerilla-style interviews.

lol.
what i like is the fact he says he thinks that hardware is where u get your own sound........and everyone is using cracked software and they all sound the same.....which is true.........but he then goes on to say he gets sent all of native instruments stuff. hmmmmmmmm

and i like this bit.....
EW: Do you like the direction D&B is taking right now, in the last year specifically?

Photek: No. Not really. What I'm trying to do with my team is to raise the bar a little bit. There’s a lot of same old same old music, and a lot of music that’s a bit childish to be honest.

ha ahahah ahaha spot on..........ive heard this so many times...dom n roland etc etc but im still hearing the same old crap........wobbly wobbly lfo filterd b lines, can i get an amen..sure i fuckin can its everywhere
