I am thinking about getting some samples of noises and voice transmissions from some of the radio equipment I work with. I can't get some stuff obviosly, for security reasons... Would anyone be interested if I posted these samples for dowload? I can do it anytime, its just a matter of finding a cable to connect my hand-held digital recorder to my computer.

Man, install Counter-Strike, you have lotsa of radio millitary samples there!!!!
Also try some Delta Force or SWAT game whatever

I reckon the Muslim wailing stuff would work well for drum and bass, ie Chase & Status - Call for Prayer

^naw thats lame, I'll show ya the kind of stuff I'm talkin about...jus gimme a few days. eg. we have a SATCOM radio that makes voices sound reallly robotic, or just the beep and rush sounds from an FM radio, more lo-fi sounds.

Right now, not on a daily basis, I'm not. But I've been there (like my first 6 months in country). Currently, I am working a chill nightshift, and stay inside the wire most of the time... thats why I've had some time to kill.

You can also fake them by downgreading the quality of existing vocals, cutting the low and high end and adding a little distortion...
Or buy two cheap walkie talkies and record what comes out of them...
