Please check out my new track 'Shimmer Darkside' and post your comments here!!!
Right this is a lenghtier final version of that tune i released a little earlier and got a couple of reviews for - thanks for them. That one was real light ambient stuff. If you like the postal service, this guy called Finer on www.macidol.com done a nice song on top of it.
This though, has a nice dark flip side on it though - so thers something for everyone.
Put a lot of time into this one, really would appreciate feedback, particularly of the heavyweight producers on the site.
safe.

cool intro drums...ambient for sure...and (i am a fan of Postal service
) the brother and sis
...
anyway...little plcuked strings sound tight...like the vox...nice and souldfull...which fits the track...not a huge fan of the sub...typically is more chilled dnb the sub is just sub...and it sounds liek youre using some kind fo accoustic or fm bass...which isnt bad...but it doesnt meet the standards to todats more chilled tracks...
The hoover/reece riifs you add are a nice touch...they actually sound more like pads...but wahtever...abotu 2:37 i was kind of hoping for things topick up a bit...even though this is a more 'ambient' track...they usually tend to become more active... the drop was cool at 3 mins...but when you were talking about cheesy vox...lol those get ready to rumble vox say cheese
but theyre cool none the less...still not a fan of the bass....but atleast things picked up...
The laugh that you add in there...isnt wet at all...dry and clean...which isnt bad, but its way infront of the mix...so its wayyyy too loud... and tahts it for the track as it rolls on through...
Production wise you have some good mixdowns...everything seemed to fit nicely... I didnt really like the sounds you used in a few elements, but thats more a taste issue than something that takes away froim the track...so dont mind those comments...
And as for the track goes...It strangely didnt get repetetive...you have very few elements, and very vfew changes, and you still managed to keep things interesting...its good...but again just a track to be listened too and i think too many people are ignoring teh dj factor (but this doesnt really apply to you anyway cause this track wasnt really made for tha6t purpose) just my 2 cents...
good work..it was a good listen...
7/10

intro.. organ
haha (I don't like organs
)
this is more the soft side of drumnbass
I thought the track was kinda boring until 3:28
harder, stronger, better !
I don't really like the female voices...
and that laugh is just a bit too loud
(i think)
I don't like the conga in your break...
hmmm I'm not gonna rate it because it's not really my style.. aight?
bigup though

Cheers for the comments. LOL, true, I'd just bitched at Surora for having cheesy speech clips in his tune: and then I go and post a track with not only the standard archetypal evil cackle, but also "LLLETS . . . GET READY . . . to ruuummmBBBLEEEE" in it. Set myself up for a fall nicely there
Ultradark, thats the best review I've had on the site, thanks yeah! Its an odd little thing, but its nice to knowI'm progressing somewhat. I got loads of fat tunes locked up in my head, it just takes soo long to get all the sounds right, dnb is 90 % production, 10% inspiration ive realised.
Rude don't like my organs or my female voices. Bitchnigger!

This is a very nice track.
Very nice ambient feel to it, chill'in and roll'in.
Not too crazy about the sub synth, that comes in and out perodically, although all other sounds, and samples fit very well together.
Change up at 3:00 is nice, like the overlay on the rumble sample, and some nice variation on the femal vocal as well. drum work is nice, like the bongos.
Pretty cool track! get those fat tracks out of your head and into the computer!

NIce track good felling to it. Im diggin the rave synth in the first half. I don't no about the switch. It sounds good but i don't think it fits. It goes from nice roller to heavy. i like this one but maybe make to seprate track out of it. but thats just me. Nice mix . sounds tight

The drums in the intro get a bit overpowered by the pad
Nice melody though
Sound clips a bit here and there.
Not too fond of that snare, could use some layering to give it more power, now it makes me feel sleepy...
Bassline is quite nice but could use a boost
