well mate i have macs and tho it took a while to get used to and there are draw backs, they are good.
but the mac mini isn't the best deal from what ive heard
you have to by loads of extra stuff
id go for the mac imac: its just a screen it looks sweet and all the gigabytes and all that are sweet aswell apparently. its pretty close to being as good as the G5 and a lot cheaper

I think so, yeah. It's quite good for what it costs...
Most popular software you need does exist for Mac: Cubase, Reason, Logic...

yeah true, but in my huge and impressive experience the sooner you get off fruity the better. its the best for the first hour or so of making a tune - you can make fat sounding tracks really easy - but once you get to a certain stage it cant take you any further. unless your making music where budget production sounds area ctually a bonus, like grime or synthpop or something.
and yeah, reagualar screens and keyboards do work on mini macs, but obviously if at all possible, you want to try and get a g5

Mac had once processor's that could kick pc's ass to outer space. Unfortunately I think this is no longer the case nowadays. Well the processor novelties are coming to us much slower than a few years ago in general now. Still I think that buying a powerfull pc will get you a better deal than buying a powerfull mac as of today.

dont buy the mac...you have to but things like the mouse, monitor,keyboard.........and for music your gonna need more ram etc etc etc .
buy a pc, get a poweful one and uses it for music only......then use your current one for the web, or anything else.
to br jonest i just dont like macs os. but they are very stable

g5 uses 64-bit processing, where as windows and all thoes other ones use 32-bit, thus allowing for a more powerful processing. as in smoother and faster.
but everyone will argue that you don't need that, because frankly none of us do any do any mastering.

hop hop....
Just with 600eur, get yourself amotherboard, proc..... and build it yourself, not so difficult!!!!
The minimac is good for a "first" computer sys, not to use intensly!!
Mac are known to be more stable than pc cause the hard is from only one provider, and there uses kind of CISC archetecture for thare proc, while the pc uses RISC one, and that's just for the little story!
But do not buy a first price pc, and especialy from a big brand cause there are shit and you can't upgrade that much on them apart from the memory.....
I know a guy on E-Bay that got HUGE deal on Athlon system, real cheap, but i've lost the name for now, try to get it for you if you want: pm me!

yeah, well done, i was being sarcastic.
