Bit of a random question but I thought I'd see how many of you are slaves to the stick. I myself managed to give up about 2 years ago

Well,
About 10 years ago i smoked for about 2 - 3 years,
just a maximum of 2-3 cigarettes a day. Then i just
stopped.. no problem. Never had the feeling that
i was actually addicted. So i stopped, until last year.
Max approx 2 cigarettes a day, sometimes i have to
remind myself doing it. Even though i'm enyoing it!
It's the same with 
booze, or a nice
spliff;
never had the feeling for being addicted on that!
I consider this as a gift!

nicotine really fucks u up, its more physically and mentally addictive than heroin.
even when ive smoked weed ive never smoked tobacco......pure spliffs, bongs, pipes, but no dirty brown shit.

owja, my uncle who quitted smoking like 20 years ago now has a cancer.. yep his wife was smoking at home.
it's your own problem if you're wasting your health. i am doing that too.
but other people around you don't have to pay for it.
except in clubs, where well i think it's okay.. but i say : smokers, stay out of me with your fucking cigarette

im at home with my parents at the minute, my mum smokes a lot, and she smokes straight cigarettes....and they really make me choke.......my grandparents smoke roll ups and its not so bad. but it still concerns me, i dont really fancy being treated for some nasty disease.
it doesnt matter how you explain it to an older generation or an addict though, they just cannot contemplate the effecy it has on others.
i know if my mum quit she would be in a complete mess, it keeps her calm.

I don't understand the whole puritanical anti smoking tobbaco thing. Theres a lot of hypocrisy out there.
"Dont make children breathe your smoke". lol. Its not like smokers are waiting outside primary schools holding kids noses and giving them blowback is it? Anyway I personnally am unconvinced about the amount of damage passive smoking can do to someone at all - but certainly unless your actually living in a pub or restaurant, I cant see that allowing smoking there can do much harm.
But we conceded. We said alright, fair enough, leave half the fucking restaurants to the non smokers, we'll just have the little scabby bits at the back to puff in. But they dont even want to have that now. They want to ban smoking in all public places! You walk through town on a wet day and you see all thesemiserable people huddled in doorways, cos their place of work wont let thme smoke in doors! its fuckng crazy! And we're supposed to be like this real liberal laissez faire civilisation. Do whatever you like, so long as what its what we tell you to like.
People have a right to be smug about not smoking. Though it is well enjoyable, in the long term, it does increase your chance of some nasty diesease. However, my mates dads a doctor, and he said if you just do it for a while when you're young you'll be fine. Moderation being the key, same with anything, eating, drinking, whatever.
And as to all the self righteous bunners, most of them put baccy in their jays anyway. And people who think that weed is just all play and no pay are pretty fucking stupid too. What, you think the government are just being tight for the fun of it? You think they wouldn't love the chance to make a fuckload of money out of taxing the shit out of marujana, taking all tha money that it genrates to some crminals? I honestly reckon that weed has its drawbacks like everything else. Its made mates of mine really, unmotivated and lazy: all the cool shit is when you first start anyway, like the intensity, and the munchies and the giggles - it all fades, and it just becomes dry and mundane. And iit can mess with some peoples heads more than most people give it credit for.

not sure i agree with u about the passive smoking thing.....but yoour right about weed.
its far from clean despite what most people think.
but as for the menatl aspect...well if your a schizo nutter then your a schizo nutter, smoking weed might make that worst but it doesnt cause it, alcohol can have the same effect.

nah I looked into this a bit, and i dont think its true. on the bbc yesterday some guy who has been consistently quoted for his endorsement of weed came out and publicly retracted it. yeah it makes skitzos worse, but it worsens depression, and does a whole load of shit. the worse thing about it tho, is just the fact that people treat it like just a cigarette, so they become complete fucking space cadets. some of the older people i know man, people whove been bunning solidly for like 30 years now, they're holding down jobs, they got kids, they're OK, but you talk to them,and really, they definately aint all there. But thats cool cos these peopple were generally never gonna set the world alight anyway,
