noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
no congas or bongos or cowbells!
they screw up your sound...
(this should be in production question and answers idd...)
Try some songs of Akura, he used some chicken samples in one of his drumloops

Akura's chickendrumtrack is called "Sticky Bandit"
If you want to learn how to make drumloops, just listen to the tracks on this site and start experimenting.

brings us to another point...be experimental with the sounds you use to enhance the sense of rhythm in your beats. what i do is have hi hats with a bit of velocity changing (the little green bar underneath the note in the piano roll) to make it sound more lively, less stiff and programmed. kick and a snare of course, plus ghost snares. and maybe two open spots to put in a conga, cowbell, tambourine, maybe even a...chicken sound if you can make it fit successfully. then make a sweet, interesting ride pattern to back it up and layer in a break in the fruity slicer to help the beat flow more easily. of course, there are situations where your rides will sound so good you don't need the break, or your break will flow so good you won't need the rides. but that's just what I do...get your own style!

If you want it to sound less artificial, play around with the velocity and the time shift settings in your drum sequencer. Gives it a more live-drummer feel.
I also like to use some toms in between.

Yo Rosten ! When I have time , I'll come to you and show you how start with those basic drumrolls. It's important to experiment a lot to learn yo self new things 'n tricks .
-Start with a basic tempo of 190 or 180 Bpm .
-make your loop 8 steps long (or 16 )
-then search some nice sounding kick and a Snare and a hat
-place them like Rude told ya and go on...
-then search some bass-sound or something 'n create some sort of Bassline (a bass-melody like Bwoa.....Bwoaaah ...Bwo Bwo Bwo...).
- then search some string-sounds to fill up the shit , or some synth-sounds , ...
-It's important to make your sound clear and nice with the mixer-master (FX button beneath "monitor"):
-->when you check your channel settings (click on "snare" in your loop-bar by example) look at the right-uppercorner (F
and fill in a number (that number matches with the FX on the mixer-master) , then you can select certain sound effects by clicking the triangle-down-button on your mixer-master (like "Fruity Free Filter" to equalise yo sound or "Fruity Compressor" to limit yo decibels and gets a better quality .
! Notice that your sound gets a better quallity when you use more than one sound for a melody. ( ask me next time to explain , cause I've told yo too much yet)
! Notice that you can start with drumloop-sample to begin...

the sport break is wikked...
one question.are u using a midi controller, if so just play/trigger your own beats with it. then usu a loose quantise so u dont lose the swing, your beats willl roll a lot easier. then u can jsut program the simple bits.
