now check this......im thinking of making a chillout cd to sell to dog owners...i think ill get away with blank cds cause no humans gonna know are they???how can they hear it!!!! $$$$$$$ ka ching!!!

One problem: CDs are only 44.1 samplingrate, so it will be hard to go higher than 20khz...

maybe. or maybe they are listening for bugs. there sensative hearing range could actually be within our hearing range, which would be tehre "communication" range, one would assume. everything else would be simply for enviromental listening.
it would be the whales and propies that would be able to communicate in the broadest of ranges. but since you can hear so good in water, hear is probably the most imporant thing.
