Hey all, Stumbled across this site yesterday on a trawl looking for some decent and new DnB.

From the uk, so I guess my DnB influences are pretty obvious,

Dillinja (& LemonD = Valve)
Twisted Individual
Ed Rush & Optical
DieselBoy
Freq Nasty
Aphrodite
Aphex Twin (Whatever you want to put him under)
Qproject
DrumSound and Bassline Smith
Dj Krush

(Also into heavy stuff like System Of A Down, Godsmack etc etc. Lets not forget the god that is Liam Howlet)

I spose you can see where I am going Cool

LOVING Nosracs stuff from here, some very cool dark stuff there, currently going thru Suyra's stuff.

Had the pleasure of seeing Valve do a set last year, and my god I have never heard anything like it - they give you ear plugs ffs at the door... the sound was just incredible. (And no I was not sensible enough to wear them)

Any suggestions for ppl for me to listen to would be great -

Well - you'll find a lot of answers in the Hot producers topic Smile

If you like Aphex Twin you should check out Autechre. No DnB - but I love their shit - and live they're just Shocked

And for me - I like DnB a lot when it's served hard, dark & fast Big Grin

I also had the pleasure of seeing the valve system A couple of times recently down here in portsmouth (& no I didnt wear the plugs either! Big Grin

)

I'm down in North Cornwall at the minute, originally from Northampton. A little noisier there than here, although I can hear the sea if I try Smile

I dunno what it is about Twisted, there is just something kinda raw and slightly manic about some of the tracks. Get his mix of this one if you can -

Loxy, ink & Jdub - Instinct

There are a couple of moments in there which are just Pleased

It is worth the whole track I think (which otherwise is a little formulaic).

Going to check out that thread now though.....

Crushfuck - if your in the UK, have you heard any of the stuff off the new Valley of the Kings EP from Drumsound???

Ahh I love the sea I live right near it & drive past it most days, I love cornwall too its so chilled down there its unreal. Where bouts in north cornwall are you some of the places up there are really nice.

Havent listened to the valley... ep yet. is it any good? will prob try and have a listen when i get back from work later

Well it was released on monday, have not had a chance to order it yet - check out Zane Lowes show from last monday if you can (I think it was that one). He played a track off it then, my god I had a fucking aneurysm!! So sexy, that and DJ Fresh - All that jazz.

Anyhows, I'm right on the coast, between Port Isaac and Tintagel. Bout 40 minutes from Newquay

Sweeet! I went up there last summer, stayed just outside Tintagel & traveled round that whole area - its damn nice when the weather is good coz there are loads of cool outdoor places to go but as with most places a bit lame when its pissing out down with rain!

Are there any decent clubs round that area?

HA ha, I thought you said you'd been here lol. No, nothing for miles. No clubs - zero!

However, every year we have an 'end of season' free all nighter that gets kind of ignored by the police. In a big field at tintagel. That is much fun. Otherwise it is off to Newquay or Falmouth really.

Where abouts did you stay?

I stayed in a wicked little caravan park in Bossiney literally right on the coast. it was so nice to like get up in the moring & just go wandering around the coast & into the coves and stuff.

So what do you get up to for fun down there then? Smile

Seriously, you would not believe the drink and drugs scene down here!! Luckily drugs are no longer a vice of mine, but shit.....

When I saw Valve, had to travel up to Sheffield (!!) although, managed to bag ticket for Jaxx at the Eden project in August, that should rock (though a little mainstream for this site I should think)

WTF! I would fucking WALK to Brixton to see them again! Goddamn religious experience, saw them at Knebworth and I have never been a part of anything like it, and I've done years of gigging. It makes the hairs on my arms stand on end just remembering it!

When in July?? My birthday is in June - would be a hell of a treat if I could pull the time off.

Jaxx @ Eden should be cool, like a lot of their stuff, but what a place to go see a gig. Wanted to see Mr Scruff there, and Air, but missed 'em both.

I used to go North Cornwall every Summer with my family, stayed in a little place called Boscastle (the one that nearly got washed away) which is well near to Trebawith Strand - its the place where there is this huge rock in the middle of the bay that looks a bit like the profile if a monkey drowning or something. I have to say, that is the nicest part of England that I have ever seen, country side wise, and I had some good good times there. And when I went there I was too young too care much about the lack of clubs. In a way you're quite lucky I think. Though in a way you obviously aint aswell. Anywayz . . . sorry for butting in. Pleased

Yeah I saw them at reading & it was fuckin amazing!!! Nearly got crushed down at the front but it was worth it!

A lot of people have said they dont like the new album & I must admit I was a bit skeptical on first listen but now that ive got it I love it. Its definitely a good return for the main man!

am gonna leave work now but ill be home soon so ill check out the details on that gig & post them up in this thread for ya!
