yeh but its worth the hassle, even if you cant be bothered to build your own ensembles, tweaking the presets to get an original , quality sound gives good results

You don't even need the usb connection, most soundcards have a midi input, all you need is a cable converter that goes from the joystick port to midi. So you could even use a cheap old casio or something as midicontroller, just as long as it has a midi output.

Not sure about the juno's, I know that moogs often give problems because they use some pre-midi protocol.

edit: tis is an interesting article on the juno's and alpha-juno's. http://www.gordonreid.co.uk/vintage/alphajuno.html Apparently everything since the juno 106, including the alpha 1 & 2 have a decent midi support.
