Surya "The Silence" - afterhourz atmosheric mix
http://www.selsynproductions.co.uk/music...heric%20mix.mp3
I guess this forum is mainly focused on a harder vibe. But I liked the sample and thought it would be fun and a bit of a learning exercise.
Excuses:
I spent approx 16 hours over the weekend on the track.I would have liked a alittle more time tho.I reckon track is 80% finished, just a bit of tweaking to the Arrangement/keyline melodies/break.
You may find the EQ/mixdown all to cock due to monitoring on headphones.
Kit Used:
Cubase SX2
EmuX - Kit samples/ProteusX percussion/SFX
Albino 2 - Pads/Leads/SFX
Alpha - Bass
Yours thoughts and opinions wanted. Please no 'its a bit chilled/mellow' comments, its ment to be.

Not really, we got some very good chill/jazz/atmospheric producers here too!

Thx for the comments, very positive,I agree with you on all points.
Didnt have time to eq/compress the kit seperatly.
Cos it was monitored on headphones everything tends to be a bit tinny.
Didnt do any sort of mastering apart from a maximaizer
again headphones not ideal.
There is another synth fill/keyline but didnt have time to get it in.
Regards

i love that lead. such a liquid track.
and long, but oh well.
for this length of track, i'd say it's prudent to introduce another instrument, or even just an effect, for the second drop. even if it's just to play in unison with the original lead. besides that fx synth.
it's a nice song. i am envious for i cannot do songs like this as well as you do.

Very trancey and chill track. Like all the layers in thisone. I think you've spent quite some time on all this?
Overall the sound is quite sharp and it could use some more mid and the bass is certainly lacking...
Very nice anyway!
