if you want a warm bass, you'd better use VST-stuff
I use the copper-synth to do my basslines

Pendulum-like bassline |
I know Pendulum uses only softsynths but its hard working to get those sounds that way .
Hardware synths like the SE1-x make your musical life a lot less complicated .
If you want some samples let me know .
Greetings Dirk .

why dont you just buy/steal a decent soft synth...z3ta...absynth 2/3..vanguard....or even a cheap hard synth and experiment, pendulums stuff sounds like saw waves that have been mashed up, distorted etc, probably with some high quality fx. and dont forget peeps dont just use one sound......they layer
but dont buy novation.they suck......really bad

If you know how to copy Pendulum, you can go on from there to create your own sound...
People say I'm copying Evol Intent. I'm not. They are an influence on me, and I do similar things, in a way, but thats MY style, and it just happens to be THEIR style too. It's not coz you sound like someone else, that you don't have your own sound. It's just that your own sound happens to be the same as someone else's

Word. I wanna add something here: we're all occupied with dancemusic, i.e. quite repetitive music in it's own right. How are we gonna expect to stand out as individuals each time we make a break, bassline,... In 40% it's the sounds we/they use that makes A style OUR own style.

I don't think I have to worry about having my own style.
I have an extremely unique style.
All I have to worry about is other people liking my style!!
That.....and making it sound good
