A nice digital mastering compressor!!
Drawmer Masterflow DC2476

Costs more than my car though but I got it for doing a number of mixing jobs for free Bigup
And BTW it seriously kicks the TC Finalizer's ass in sound quality and features Big Grin

If anyone needs some professional mastering...?? Wink

the difference between a software and a hardware compressor should be very hearable when you listen better than the average kiddo with the new sum41 album

i bet you can't here the difference between a good software compression or a good hardware compression.

Well since the thing is digital it actually IS software compression, as a matter of fact I have installed a software update in it. So you're both right.

Basically you could be able to get a sound like this from a PC but you would need a very expensive 24/96 soundcard to get the same A/D-D/A quality and you would use up all your CPU power to run a single compressor. Not for nothing this thing has a street price of around 3000 euro (and I got it for free Big Grin )

It's like running a high-end ProTools reverb on a mac with protools LE - it sounds very good but you need so much processing power you can't run any other plugins...

BTW Nos I too can hear the difference between different types of compressors and certainly between the typical run-of-the-mill VST plugin and this!!

Three years ago I promised myself that one day I would own this particular compressor and I now have it!!! Man I'm pleased Big Grin

For your interest a few years ago I also thought that an Alesis 3630 was a very good compressor, simply because I had never heard anything better.

lol that was my previous car Big Grin

I have used this machine for the first time this monday when I was mixing a goa live set, and sounded excellent. The menu system is a bit confusing to use though.
