I noticed a few bugs in the links section so I updated it to the last version. Bugs fixed
I also added a couple dozen new links there. Will keep adding more in the coming days.
I also updated the 2004 copyright tag at the bottom of every page to 2005
Normally Surya reminds me of this every year, but I think he forgot

Yeah I'm on top of everything now
No it's ofcourse an attempt to raise the ad income a bit, the site is costing me an arm and a leg (over 4000 euro up to now, projected cost for this year is another 1800 euro
). At my current income I'm working 2 months a year just to pay for the site...
I'm getting well over 200000 pageviews and over 10000 unique visitors every month, but hardly anybody clicks on the ads. If every member would just click once a month the hosting costs would be paid.
There are other options too - I could ask 1 euro for every uploaded song for example, or if somebody is willing to donate me 150 euro a month, I would be very glad to remove the ads

Well...
was thinking of the following:
the current rule which is applied now, is that you have to be a registered user to d/l songs from the producers on this site...
Baring the rather high amount of producers and their uploaded tracks in mind, you could make a small change:
* each producer who wants to upload a track has to pass 5 times via a google ad.
*each registered user who wants to d/l a mix or track has to click 5 (or whatever number) times on a google ad.
Apart from the fact that i think that google and the whole ad-industry sucks (i understand it tho, money has to be kept in circulation), there's apparently no denying it.
It's not a question of choice anymore, no matter how cool the concept of this site may be, i wouldn't want to pay thechronics bills.
Dunno, maybe by adapting the site in a funny way a bit, so that everybody who wants to benefit from this site, has to be willing to click their mice 5 times more.

DON'T GO MASIVLY CLICKING THE GOOGLE ADS!!!
Google will detect that the clicks come from the same user, and won't count them. They say they even punish for it, so Pieter wil receive LESS money if you do that. Just click it every now and then (every few weeks)

Can't do that, I would get banned, it's very explicitly stated in the agreement. I am not even allowed to ask people to click them.
It's a very good thing these ads, it helps pay for sites so they can be further developed. Since I started using them myself I developed the habit of always clicking on them in sites I visit. It's only a small amount of cash you get for a click (3-8 cent) but it's not an effort at all and it's a sign of respect towards the site owners imo.
