cause through the eyes of a scorpian was just shite wasnt it!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!! dude. dont be silly. silent depths is huge. dark epic scary heavy etc etc etc.
yes the reason presets are shite, the filters are all terrible, the eq sucks like a mexican whore. apart from that i luv it and would be lost without it. thank god for rewire.

Well a famous engineer once put it "there are pizza parlors on every corner. everyone is making piza. but if your pizza is good, people will buy it"..
I don't know if teebee was refering to "kids" that have tunes out on labels, or just bedroom producers. But, if its released on a label, it must have sounded good to someone for them to go through the effort of releasing it. music is subjective for crying out loud. as for the "everyone is using the same samples" comment, the same can be said about the amens and breaks he and many other non-software producers have used....

all these producers havin ago at reason and amateur producers are startin to piss me off.
i use reason 3, and honestly i know about 1/4 of what i should know about it, got no knoledge of rewire or vst's. It feels like ive just walked into a world of sound at the age of 5... still learning...
now if any of u have heard any o my tracks, u'l know that its not great sound quality... because im only producin tracks with what i know of reason already... but its definately my own work...
my point is to eveyone out there..... dont knock us amateur producers just because it sounds shit... thats just a matter of opinion... its all about makin a good tune based on your talent as an artist while using whatever hardware/software you've got.
man teebee, think before u speak

Reason is the reason drum & bass to a large extent sounds like shit. Every motherfucking kid out there is sitting with the same presets of beats, the same soft synths, the same filters, the same plug-ins, and if it doesn't sit right there's a little button called 'mixdown' that will let the computer do it for you. That to me was the day the music died."
quote from Knowledge Mag
He's right that if you only use the presets everything sounds the same, but that's the case with EVERY synth (hard- or software) so this only goes for lazy producers. And for the mixdown: if you don't use your ears, it surely will sound like shit, that's not the program's fault.
The problem is not that Reason isn't a good tool imo, but that it makes making music too accesible, so now everyone's making music, and a lot of people doing it have no talent whatsoever. THAT's why a lot of music these days sounds shit. It's not coz of Reason... |
Hes got a point...Therse no creativity anymore... cmon guys start leargning to synthesize...

what the fuck is that meant to mean? |
what i mean is teebee is right...its not exactly the sfotware that maybe has killed the sounds, but people are getting lazy and arent taking the time to make shit sound good...its time people pu thte soul back into the music and take some serious time to make it sound good...
