REFERENCE
Reference is co-founder, promoter and resident DJ of Repercussion, one of the UK's leading drum&bass and hiphop parties. Repercussion started at the end of 2002, and has gone from strength to strength. After the now legendary sell-out 1st birthday party with Metalheadz at London's Egg club in April 2004, the crew are set for big things!
Reference has been running parties across the UK since 1999, and has played in most of the country's major cities, as well as bookings in Paris, Rennes, and Belgrade. He has appeared alongside DJs such as Goldie, Bad Company, Bailey, Calibre, Klute, Doc Scott, DJ Flight, Total Science, Loxy, Cause4Concern, DJ Friction and many others.
From regular DJing and promoting, his record box is always crammed full of fresh new dubs from producers such as Breakage, Calibre, Klute, C4C, Commix, Tactile, Cyantific, D.Kay, and Pacific, and known for his varied selection and uncompromising style.
WYLIE-D
As well as being Repercussion resident and co-promoter Dave (Wylie-D) is also promoter of Reverb in Brighton, and plays out regularly at nights such as One Nation, Best of British, Reaction, to name a few. Wylie plays out regularly in Germany, and has recently built himself a strong status, proved by the headlined events in North Germany. Events include Dub-Plate Business, Jungle Invasion, Reminiscence and Another Level. The recent signing to European DJ Agency has provided booking opportunities in Poland, Switzerland and France.
The next step comes in the form of production, an area in which Wylie has always been engrossed with. Having worked with experienced producers for years, learning the intense basis of production techniques, the studio environment is a familiar one. His studio set-up provides a creative outlet of musical thoughts, and although no releases are of yet, Wylie often travels to bookings with his own customized beats to test out on the crowd.
As an experienced DJ, Wylie represents the wider angles of D&B. With his tough, quick and energetic mixing style, he can perform at a professional level at all styles of events. Describing his style as 'Rolling, Deep, Dubby yet melodic', a structure is always present in his sets. This systematic selection of tracks, provide a progressional element that creates his own unique style.
The dubs in his box include music from Commix, Friction, Vicious Circle, Mutt, Strainjah, AJC and many more.
MC MANIKULAR
Manikular has been MCing for the best part of a decade and currently holds down 7 residencies across the UK, including Source, Therapy Sessions, Repercussion and HQ (which he also runs).
His unique delivery of meaningful rhymes derived from his old skool and hiphop roots are favoured amongst the more discerning junglists and suit the Repercussion style perfectly. Manikular has worked with almost every respected name in the d&b scene - from Goldie to Andy C, LTJ Bukem to Ed Rush and many many more.
As well as MCing, he is also a dab hand in the studio with releases under his belt as Manikular and also as part of Rareform.
