My first encounter with drum 'n bass would have been Roni Size's 'brown paper bag' on MTV. I hated it. Fact. But then again, my cd-collection was only filled with the outer regions of metal-brutality. When the focus was switching, electronics arrived, and my very very very first own dnb record was Aphrodite's Style from the dark side. The first real collection were the blue and the red first moving shadow collections (98.1 & .2).
Then the fall began...

my parents HATE dnb, even the chill dnb. Even 80% of my friends don't like dnb
, 10% likes it because i do, 5% got into it themselfs and the other 5% got the virus of the previous 5% and me.

most of my friends like it, but just for a tune or 3-4
then it's all back to metal ...
got some other friends too tho

Most of my friends are very open minded. We've been all partying for 5-10 years, guess that has something to do with it, it opens your eyes
All of them prefer a certain style of music and a few dislike certain styles (even dnb
) but whatever we want to go to we can always gather a party crowd.
I for myself don't like house and other soft / slow styles (and luckily so do most of my friends), but I attend one or two house parties every year if the gang is going... It's all a matter of being with the right people to have some fun

I got into d&b after my good ol' pal "den Bracke" made me listen to his first d&b CD's; but it was it's like a jungle that got me coming for more. Then catalyst came out & we went berserk.
Bought my first record 2 years ago I think => Nasty Ways EP.
Then it got worse =]
My parents hate d&b too. They even can't stand calibre; but I don't mind... I make them suffer...
