i wasn't gonna add to this until i'd seen the feedback, i love d'n'b but i prefer more as a 'going out and dancing' thing, i love going to clubs but in the long run i hate metal clubs, so many people in em are close minded knobends (esp in swansea where so many people belive its still 1986).
personaly though, fave bands are converge, the wildhearts, therapy?, meshuggah, stampin ground etc

Echolux, if you like death-metal, you should check out necrophagist and psycroptic. They are sick.

Wot!?!? I saw your mugshot dude! No waaay!
But then again, superficial looks and exterior criteria don't matter that much, do they?
I'd say, let's marry and let that priest headbang to the inna-cosy-situation-made-mixtape feat. Converge vs. Mr. Bungle. Waddaya reckoN???

I still think their masks suck
Cant really say much about the music, since ive only heard a few songs. They sounded okay though. But people say that they are more of a kids-band. Ive seen 10 year olds with Slipknot shirts
And also, they performed on the TMF awards (dont know wheter it were the Belgian or Dutch awards, though), and TMF is seen as THE big commercial music television of holland.
But I do agree about the talent. Slipknot has some great drummers in their band. Well they should have, since they have like 100 bandmembers

Some hip hop is good, especially back when it was real....before all the hype starting surrounding it, i.e. turntablism, graffiti, breakdancing, all that hippety hoppety shite.
Where do you guys think DNB came from? It's just hiphop at twice the speed.....but now it's made by crazy people like us......we made it so much better!!

Well some may find it strange for me, being a negro but, i listen to almost every genre mentioned thus far.
A couple metal albums that i've been listening to lately:
Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine
Between The Buried And Me - (selftitled)
And some hip hop (not shitty top 40 rap)
Aesop Rock - Fast Cars, Danger, Fire and Knives
Jedi Mind Tricks - Legacy of Blood
K-OS - Joyful Rebellion (top 40 in canada but not shitty if you ask me)
And to spudlyq , Hip-Hop isnt dead, although it is fading...and your completely wrong if your saying turntablism, graffiti and breakdancing killed it seeing as that is what hip-hop was based on in the beginning.
Go rent the movie Wild Style. And if you get it from Blockbuster, never return it.

No no no, I was saying that turntablism, graffiti, and breakdancing was the good stuff. Back when it was real, Afrika Bambataa, Grand Mixer DXT, the origin of scratching, beat juggling, flaring.....that's the good stuff. I'm saying it was good back then, and then the MC's decided that they didn't need the DJ's and they just started using little drum machines and went off and became rappers. I have major respect for the beginning, Rock It!!! Ship ship shwoop, ship ship shwoop....HAHA. Yeah man, I have major respect for the origins. I mean, that's what hip hop is, you know? It's the feeling, it's that "stripped down funk that makes you get down with your bad self."

Don't really care about metal. Had many metal-friends back in the day, so i checked a lot of stuff but it really isn't my thing....(and i certainly am not into tha metal-dnb fusion thats been popping up in dnb; master of puppets-remix, korn-remix...etc, etc
)
Been heavily into hip-hop since my early teens(early P E, ice-t, boogie down productions, ultra magnetic mc's, De La Soul...etc). and i listen to a lot of electronics. From techno (nowadays a bit less than i used to, but there was a time I went raving to fuze every change i got, amazing times!) to more experimentel stuff (aphex, autechre, boards of canada, plaid, etc, etc). Into dub/ragga/reggea for a long time now. Also funk/rare grooves is frequently on my platters.....
I listen to lot's of music (being related to fried chicken records for a few years made my a real vinyl-junkie)
My biggest influences are no doubt hip hop(my first big love), dub stuff (budda bless yeah
)and techno(opening me up to the rave-dance-movement
)...
