metal all the way baby!!! I especially like melodic stuff or straight up kick-in-your-face metalcore.. Slayer, Death, Dimmu Borgir (never checked it until their last cd, man, sooo fat, it's heavy black shit wrapped in a symphonic orchestra, never heard so much musicality in a metal cd before), Nightwish, Unearth, Liar, At the Gates... keep'em coming (but not too much dumb 2chord punk please)
I really get lots of inspiration when producin dnb from the mad metal drums and riffs, more then from any other music.
And I've always said I prolly like metal the most of all styles, because it combines the three other styles I like alot: the fast groovy patterns of dnb, the slow and heavy hiphop rythms and the musicality of classical music..
And believe me, metal is dancefloor oriented, although the dancing sometimes might differ a bit from what yer used to :-] (stil feels the pain in his cheeck from running into an elbow last show ;-)

eh, most jungle clubs i are full of the hip hop croud. not many rockers there, but the hardcore ones.... rancid shirts and remones floating about.....

lol slipknot commercial? ok they had their hit singles, but they all deserved that status imo! get some of their albums and listen thru them, you'll be convinced their sound is far from commercial lol
they'll always be a contrversial band with the masks and shit, but imo they make very fine music, I don't know a band who can catch a strong/violent/hatefull vibe as good into their music as they can. and beside that they can play their instruments in a helluva way!

slipknot suck ass they rely on a gimmick to sell their music, which actually isn't that great. the riffs are regurgitated and recycled from other bands - just because they've used a few weird effects doesnt make them original. The music isnt hateful & violent its pure cheesey shit, its not even really very heavy!. the lyrics are bollocks their stage show is lame (I have seen them live by the way) its all about the image.
Listen to some real metal!!!!!!!!!!

dude IOWA, the song slipping away, or whatever, even rolling stones magazine noticed that it "stuck out like a clean thumb" that was a radio biscit. it was a sell out song. it was a commercialed song, made smooth and clean to make money.
the guy who kicks ass is not korn limp or slipknot though they all had the same producer, Ross Robinson. he was the true geniues, i think. got some raw music out there. full of energy and passion. anyone can play instruments.

that's why I said no offence about korn and deftones because they are quite wellknown to...but they do the music, and not the tralala around it!

listen to all korn CD's . try to figure out HOW exactly they came to all the noise and sound of their guitars and drums. in fact , it's all guitars man! these two guitarists are true geniuses when it comes to gear and how to use it. and how to make it sound like it sounds!!! their guitar tech, he's the genius!
i saw korn this year on werchter festival and I swear, the speakers were torn apart of their sound man!
all ross robinson did is capture the live energy of korn, and he did a fucking great job, because that is fucking difficult to give people back the same emotions as when they came up with the song. and emotion is one big thing when it comes to a song of korn. so hat off for both! the same with slipknot.

I guess it's a shameless plug but these guys really are godly. I was told they are punk, but I've never seen a punk band play songs like this. The lead guitarist is something else. They do very Nintendoish songs but with a heavy edge. The minibosses are pretty cool but these guys do all original stuff. The best part is they have 30 hifi top quality songs free for download on their site.
