I love metal. Not the stuipid bullcrap scream and satan metal though. I mean, it's fun and all to thrash about and all, but I prefer melodic metal.

Jup like it too, especially the grungy & gothic stuff. Not into the hardcore shit. A lot of d'nbheadz are indeed quite hiphopminded.

I was (wel still am, but much less then before) a real rocker
. There was nothing else then rock for me. But now I really love DnB. But Im also really into these genres: jazz, electro, house, lounge, ambient, hiphop and hardcore (punk, not the electronical one) and a lot of sub-genres.
But at first I was a rocker. I kind of fell in love with DnB. First DnB 'party' was at a local rock festival. Great bands, really awesome festival. genres ranged from acoustic guitar to hardcore. really enjoyed it. But during the last evening of the festival, there was a football (or soccer) match played, and it was displayed on a large screen. Since there were a lot of football lovers there, a lot of people went to see the game. Im not really a football fan, so I went to the other stage, and guess what... they played DnB over there. I really liked it, and after a while we started dancing (well, trying
) with a small group of people.
But that was really fun, and I enjoyed it very much. So that's basicly the story of my first meeting with DnB
. But I still really like rock, and going to concerts once in a while. My musical taste has evolved itself, but hasnt left rock behind
.
oh btw: deftones and a perfect circle are really great bands!

Nah, can't honestly say I relate to that at all. Hardly know anyone whos into both, they're quite contrasting cultures aren't they? I mean the one is quite "ghetto" with its MC's and is really about clubbers and that, while the other attracts a totally different demographic imo.
Apart from the overlap created by that Nightbreed tune, but I never liked that at all. Things are probably different in Belgium tho.

Probot -'Probot' (Southernlord)
Converge - 'You Fail Me'(Epitaph)
Isis - 'Panopticon' (Ipecac)

Metal? Not my favorite style, it's not really dance-floor oriented... Same thing for hip-hop
Give me techno (which is not the stuff you hear on the radio
), progressive or alternative electronic stuff

There are a hell of a lot of people that I know that are into metal as well as D&B and in fact they probably liked metal way before they got into drum n bass (myself included).
Metal fucking kicks ass dude, not the new metal shit - slipknot, linkin park etc that shit sucks BADLY. Has anyone seen that metal reality show 'battle for ozzfest'? it is the most ultra lame thing iv'e seen in a long while! I have nuff respect for ozzy but he's really cheesing it up at the moment trying to become a tv star or something.....
good bands in my opinion:
Pig destroyer
Nile
Converge
Necrophagia
Dillinger escape plan
Mastodon
Dying Fetus
origin
anal cunt
flesh parade
burnt by the sun
oh and not forgetting the original godfathers
PANTERA!!!!!!!!!!!!
did everyone hear about Dimebag??? Damn that shit sucks he was a proper legend in the world of metal
