Now the reason i posted this thread is because i'm trying to make some good drum and bass...But i just can't get my drums sound right..I have tried but hopelessly...Nothing sounds like it should..Could somebodu give me a lead end for drums?
Like a scrnshot or something, maybe a *.flp file...
I'm really looking forward...Thnx... Smile

Well, the most important thing is the samples you use for your snare drums. Layer some samples. Take a punchy one, layer it with a more snappy one and layer that with maybe a more metalic sounding one to get that 'perfect' snare...

learn how to download lot's and lot's of VST's.

i find using the Buzz effects help make good reece lines.

gives the good distorting

Geonik's Saturator, on anything, then turn the gain down, can be done iwth another buzz, but fruity balance works too.

then you use Rymix
Stero Box, click import Buzz PResets and then -Maxxbass.
or
bass boost about 60-80.

now for a fruity Bass line, TS404 to the rescue. i do not suggest using this but it can give a good example.

square wave for the top OSC.

PW 12 o'clock.

OSC 1+2 set to the far left, so it's only the OSC 1 playing.

Turn attack to the far left, so there is no attack going in just sustain.

SL far right so it's full at the start as well.

do what you want with the filters, i go with LP24 cut at 10 o'clock and res at 2 o'clock and env at what ever sounds funky.

now the key for the WORRBLE in the reece is the PW, sometimes called PWM in other stuff.

click that in the LFO seethings, PW.

speed at about 2 o'clock or 30% mark, and amount just a little.

this is a crappy reece.

or goto www.spinwarp.com and use their VST. just download it into the plugins/vst folder iny uor FL.

3 octaves down from key note toooo....

C5 is the key note, then C2 should be your area.

Umm..I have a problem btw with the VST plugins..They don't work, every time i try to load a VST plugin FL gives me an error report which says: The plugin could not be found or is not registered..I have tryed everything i know to fix the problem but still nothing...Has anybody encountered the same problem? Huh

for fruity loops 5, get a drum sample and put it in the slicer.

arrange.

you can even click the slice name and rename it for easier recognition of what each slice is in the piano roll. this is what i do mostly. that and use Layer and plop a few drums in. select them by right clicking the green dot beside the samples, then selecting Set as Children on layer.
one stop shop.

nice drum samples in the Downloads part of this page, and on the internet for good drum loops.

you can do some good stuff with slicer, like reverse strech pitch cut the release on the beats, and just tweaking the high and low, you get it mostly sliced perfectly.

are you sure there's VST's, and not a different sort of .dll

or it could be the vst you got is not properly registered.

the simplest reece is a 3 osc. Turn off the 3rd osc, and set the other two to be saw. Detune one - and one +. I usually do osc 1 +20 cents and osc 2 -20 cents.

From there I usually bitcrush and flange.

I'll have to try out Geoniks. I've used one VST called ruby tube, similar effect from my understanding.

you put them into the plugins>VST folder, you goto instruments or effects, depening on what type of vst it is, and refreash, it comes up, you click the red ones.

now you have to make sure if you select it in effects, it is, indeed, an effect.

instruments only work in instruments, also.

some VST's are distributed as an installer which puts the DLL where your VST folder is, ensure you are putting DLL's in your VST folder.

good so fruityloops is no joke.. its what i mainly use besides 3 korg samplers that im still learning...

everyone says my fruityloops shit is mad hot but i dont know where to go or what to do about it so hopefully this place will be a good start you all seem to know a lot.....
