yes it can, although internally you do get 32bit integer samples of which 8 bits are set to 0

I don't know if I can explain this exactly but 32bit float is in fact 24bit that uses another 8bit integer to define it, it's not equal to 32bit but it's still better then 24 Smile

Tell me, do you plan on normalising your 24-bit samples? Tongue Sorry for teasing Big Grin

What kind of sound quality increase do you expect over 16 bit, 44.1? Unless you plan on spending thousands of euros on top quality speakers, D/A converters and a master word clock you're not going to hear much of a difference anyway. Especially not if you're going to mix in a piece of software with plugins all over it. It is just going to waste disk space, memory and processing power for little or no increase in sound quality.

I also saw someone suggesting to use a dynamic microphone to record a drum kit in 24-bit 96kHz... bit pointless since the noise floor and frequency range of a dynamic mic do not even come close to the specs of 24-bit 96kHz.

So don't waste time looking for 24-bit samples, just stick to the 16-bitters you can find everywhere Wink

the best dnb tunes come from low quality high end old music beats.

rock beats come from 24-bit drums.
