Great opening roll. The drums must be live recorded too, no - or sampled loop? (most likely) - but otherwise this is some fantastic/seemless programming with all the snare varitations and velocity touches. The build at 0:55 is really nice and the bridge at 1:08 - sweet. There seems to be a snare out of place at 1:00 and again at 1:57. Beautiful roll at 2:26 - those are those thin clear "toms" that hook onto a cymbal stand, right. Being a drummer, I very much appriciate the work here, if it is in fact live recorded - would love to know your mic set up because I last tried a Sure SM57 (snare), Sennheiser MD421 (bass and toms), a condenser and a pzm for the cymbals and ambiance and it didn't sound nearly this good. The piano sounds like a Steinway - please don't tell me you recorded that too Shocked . All in all a whole other level than the laptop stuff done here. Chord structure and chord variations clearly come from someone with musical training. Is that you playing the bass and flute - some skill indeed. I uploaded a tune called "Live recorded Blues" where I was just experimenting with the simplest of blues progressions playing the bass, organ/crappy digital piano sound and acoustic guitar into the laptop and then looping it to a very simple beat to see how the cossover would sound - not entirely pleased - but your track sounds really nice. All and all a SPLENDID tune - not exactly in the dnb vein - but a great listen nonetheless.

wondering where you've been latly.

YA! awsome track. i love the jazz sound. great bass man, it's amazing!!! flutes nice. i love the drums.

that piano doesn't seem entirly harmonic in the first few chords. listening to it again, it's just the way it goes, don't really notice it..... meh.

reverse effect was good. nice vox's. wow man, this song is prue. pure awsome. powerful.

it's too short. i wanted it to go on more. Bigup

what kind of setup do you have to record?

First Nosrac. Pitty to de-illusion you on the drums cause it are actually copyright-free loops from the FM magazine did quite some work on eq -ing them. if I 'dd known a drummer like that in my area then the world wouldnt be a safe place anymore Big Grin ! dont really know bout the mics-setup. I think you cann re-arrange a lot by EQ and stuff like that. the piano s just mda one with grand piano stereo psp-plug. the chords and arrangements come from me. its because I like a lot of different music styles that i mix and cross-over that much, you cann say i'm pretty addicted to music. and I love and feel jazz one of the most. ---> arrangements. been playing for 12 years now and sequencing for about 1,5 years. bass guitar elec. guitar horns vocals and flute are live recorded and played by myself Cool . of course I've used limiters compressors EQ stereo enhancement and some effects.
Glad you enjoyed it that much. you say you drum?? how about sending me some drum recordings and ill try to eq and boost them!!??

hey Halph-price, two reasons for being less present here!!!: 1). Had to find a job again cause the music's doesnt pays off yet. 2). I make a lot of other music wich isnt suitable to upload here. Dub is one of them if you're interested check http://www.versionist.com/artist.php?artist=MUPHASTA to listem to some!! bout the piano . I'd tried this jazzy approach on chords thats why there might be some out of tune note's in it but i did that on purpose i guess. tnx for the appreciation to you too. the setup is quite simple: powermac g3 , Logic, Peak, Gibson LP, Samick fretless bass (both directly into behringer mixer this time) 1 goddamm lousy mic, for the flute and vocals and senheiser hd202 headphone. like i said before a lot cann be taken care of after the first recording! then yet alot doesnt!! its just finding the right ballance the different frequencies for all the sounds. IMHO!!!! Bigup Bigup Bigup to you.

cheers

Great song, real clean, perhaps a bit too clean for my taste, but I can appreciate the quality in the work laid down here.

One of the best tunes I've heard here so far Bigup

Wow, im loving the feel of this tune, very up-lifting. Nice work layin' down those breaks man. I don't know why but I would be compelled to add more breaks. Some of the new Paradox breaks would fit nicely in there. Also, I would give it more of a drawn out buildup in the intro. It sounds like it would be tough to mix if on vinyl. If it were me I would also add an amen, but that happens to all my tunes....lol, I can't help it!
Im givin' this tune two thumbs up man. Finish it up and send it to london electricity or somthin'.

I dont think that would sound good, but you can always try Big Grin .
Really lovely tune, there's nothing bad to say about this, except that this isnt really drum n bass. jazz can have fast rhytms too. Really good job on recording the flute, vocals and the guitar. I thought the guitar was excellent Bigup The flute could be in it a little more, but it's okay this way too I guess.
Drums are absolutely great. Good EQing too!
I'd really love to hear another jazzy track made by you! Bigup THanks for this.

Completely not my style, waaaaaaaaaay to jazzy. But very well done again. Although I kinda have the feel this is so jazzy it's hardly DnB anymore, since emphasis in DnB is on the drums and the basses, and in this track the emphasis is on the melodies and stuff and the drums and the basses are just there to make it complete.
