Nice to see you've got over your bout of Tourette's.
Now back to the business at hand.
Although the regal classical sounding scales in the intro are fitting for the kings house, they don't seem appropriate in Dnb. The bass that comes in has the perfect envelope but sounds really wimpy and happy cause its in the same scale as this intro. Although the sound quality is again very good, almost no variation here and the drums are certainly not the best sounding - snare needs a touch of reverb. The tempo track stuff from 180->90bpm is effective, but I don't think the slow break afterwards works at all, in fact, it reveals how weak the sounds are that you used. This track must of taken 20 min. to make - there is no variation at all! In rocking on your dime the repetition worked cause you had a catchy powerful line, but in this one, the repetition of this happy little scale with wussy sounds is just mind numbing - could be an Aqua track. I hope you didn't put this one on your demo. 3/5 for sound 1/5 for track, so I'll give you the average - I hope you agree with me that this is your least inspired outing yet, cause I haven't given you less than a 4/5 except for on that other soft, repetitive track (title?) on which I gave you a 4/5 for sound and 2/5 for the track. Go back and add a second drop and some melody to a solid track like Raw Bitch to redeem yourself -(hey, it could be your self titled track!).

I agree with Nosrac, the elements that are in the track are okay, but there's not enough. And certainly not enough variation. Way too repetitive.
Break down is good though.
oh wait a new version, I will check it out tomorrow, see if any improvements have been made. (I checked out the 'Check out' version, I guess that's version 1.
Well, take my comments back, Im gonna listen to it tomorrow.

3.5 for sound though.
love the second drop, slowing the tempo down is a nice little thing, but you started the intro with the same lead and
it just keeps going and going aND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING AND GOING
variations are part of the art of it aint they? other than fallowing the simple format with decnet drums? i mean, if nothing is as orginal as when you use variations. |
listen to the updated version

filter that piano line or whatever that is that would have souned ill as fuck at a lower pitch.... but it does fit in to the rest of the tune kinda up beat and really happy, have you been listening to happy hardcore.? thats what the intro sounds like..
that synth line has to go.. it killed it..
the structure is good though... the snare sounds like it needs some umph though...realy happy
so happy i wanna scream!!!!

To be honest I could care less what fits in dnb and what doesn't. The only way to evolve is to try new stuff. I'd rather have one person like my stuff and the stuff being non-generic than one-hundred people like my stuff and the stuff being generic.
I can somehow understand why you're complaining about the sounds, cause in full honesty there aren't that much used, but just don't call the sounds weak. They're not weak. The bass is not in the same scale. It's the same melody. The arpeggio melody is THAT melody only transformed in an orchestral scale.
And by far it didn't took 20 minutes to make. Your criticism is exactly what most of today's jump-up faces from short-sighted people. Hell, would all those people dancing on jump-up for hours be wrong?
Any way, if you don't like the style of these sounds, then just comment on the production. Cause I'm not here to discuss which style or taste is better or worse.
I don't see how a classical scale slapped on the piano roll is ground breaking
(check T. rolls lateest or some of Marisols stuff for groundbreaking) and 20 min. to program - not to mix and master of course.

Sounds like it needs a particular vocal in there, i noticed the chord changes u use are the same as used in a hard house anthem a few years ago - Feel So Good - think it was by Jon The Dentist & Ollie Jaye on Tidy Trax anyways, i was singing along jus then like a nutter...
Feel My Love, Feel so good, lets spend the night together,
feel my love, jus lay your hands on me!!
Think it would really work, if u can find this song im on about you wil see wot i mean.
This is tight production, very well constructed. I am a bigger fan of more warped basslines (as u wil hear in mine!) so this isnt really on my level however i can appreciate this for all the hard work spent on it has paid off, nice track!

Introsounds is ok, but not great. Sounds a tad lowfi though. Gets a bit annoying after a while
Drop: Nice wobble bassline, good drums, but clearly overcompressed like you always seem to do. Gets a bit repetetive quite fast though, and the arpish sound really starts to annoy since it never seems to stop.
Silence before the second drop is too long
Again the second drop lacks a bit of power due to the overcompression.
Quite nice basis, but I found the execution to be unimaginative and a bit boring, sorry.
2.5/5 for the track
2.25/5 for the sound, the overcompression kills it.
