At the end of the day I've seen producers play at raves that cant dj and clang every mix and I've heard records by djs that are crap because presumably they cant produce music. It’s all swings and roundabouts IMO and the more people that produce or dj the better it is for the scene as a whole. If djs suddenly decided not to go to the next level and start producing, and vice versa with producers, the scene would die a very quick death.
