Today I had the idea of checking some drum manufacturer websites to get some single shot samples. You might have gotten the same idea allready a long time ago, or maybe u haven't. So far I found www.zildjian.com has some nice one's. Continuing the search, If u know any others feel free to post them in this thread.

Thismight be a dumb question, but where can you get the samples on that site?
I've only been able to get samples to play at the website, not to save them on my harddisk.

You can't actually save them from the website, but a little computer knowledge does the trick. The samples are not streamed, but uploaded to your computer and then played. So check your "temporary internet files" folder, and u will find what u seek for. If this wouldn't work u could also record the output of your soundcard, but that's a bit more work.

Well, I was also looking for other drum samples like snares etc. But other drum manufacturers appear to be less sharing when it comes to sample previews.

I'm still planning on sampling a bunch of snare drums and percussion. Hopefully sometime this year

BTW I've got LOADS of hihat and cymbal samples. I'm not sure of the exact numbers but I have recorded somewhere between 50-80 different hihats and cymbals and have like 10-20 different hits on each. The problem is that it takes ages to cut them up in sound forge. The sample pack in the downloads page took me several days to complete, but that is only a fraction of the samples I have.
Does anyone know of a program that can do this automatically? Preferably something freeware
Or if somebody with a lot of spare time wants to do this, get in touch with me! Beware - it is a very, very boring job and it needs to be done with precision

Not freeware, but in wavelab4 just use the auto split function in the tools menu.
