Belgium most def...best beer in the world, even though, after living in Germany for two years Im also partial to German beer, but I cant stand Dutch beer. Heineken and Grolsch are both terrible (althought the Heineken Oud Bruin is good)...Im sure they have lots of nice smaller breweries though...

ya right, need gallon of ale to feel it but made from cereal a lot so u don't need to eat while u're at it............. Pleased
The basic leffe is awful imo, but the triple x one is a lot better.... And duvel is probably den drank en drank is den duvel, but don't know what u're saying...
And guiness is only good in Ireland, that's the way.
Fisher and 1664 and not bad if you can get yours hand on it sometimes....

So you never been to ireland, but please order a good pint of "tradi" guiness...... I went to Belgium on a school trip. So I have a very scewed perspective no doubt, but what I do remember is that it was, as recieved wisdom has it indeed, very flat, and also absolutely rammed full of cemetaries, which we had to trudge round endlessly. Crying

However, the towns were well cool - they still had the nice architecture from back in the day, but weren't that dull really. The best thing was that we stayed in a hotel above a bar slash club. We were like thirteen at the time, and me and some pals sliped down and went into the club. It was well good, they served us all the beeer and spirits we wanted, we got totally wrecked, I even smoked a spliff in there, right in front of a couple of off beat coppers apparently some random dude told me. Got caught on the way back in though by my teacher! At the time, I remember thinking that Belgium was the place to be Bigup

We were in some place on the coast, it was famous for being like the high water mark of the German advance through Belgium in the first world war, cant remember its name though.

one funny story about Belgians being proud of their beer.
last year when i was studying in Antwerp i made a presentation about beer brands : Jupiler and Heineken.
The presentation finished with a blind test : these Belgians had to taste Jupiler and Heineken from cups A and B.
Of course all these Belgians assumed Jupiler was 1000 times better (except the Stella fans, but hey that's another Belgian weird story)
But it turned out that no one could make the difference between Jupiler and Heineken.
Both beers are just equally disgusting Tongue
