I just hate christmas
all the hypocrisy of people trying to trade a whole year of ignoring for a few presents...
some people in my family, they never call, never show any interest to others, yet they seem to think by offering stupid presents it's all clean and we're friends and shit...
just like the whole christian forgiveness shit : you can behave like a prick all you want, talk on people, act like a complete dick, at the second you confess you're forgiven and it's all forgotten...
fucking hypocrites
I refuse to buy any present to anyone on any forced or consensual basis (christmas, birthdays, easter, father's day...) and I refuse to get any. When I buy presents to people I love (and I tend to do it quite often) it really means something and really comes from the bottom of my heart.

disagree!!!... I just see it as big party.. I've got about 20 nefues and nieces and they're all about my age.. on Christmas, there's a party with all of them and it ROCKS. Don't care about the original concept of Christmas though.

I guess it depends on your family, my parents are quite religeous and so are my uncles and Aunties, I personally dont have any real beliefs and dont really care much about christmas. I guess its because I cant connect with my family when it comes to celebrating the birth of Christ. Its nice to see all the family, but I think of christams as a long drawn out affair consisting of eating to much, hours of unwrapping presents, and most of all, hours away from writting tracks. Christmas is for kids, You get the most out of it when your about 7-8. Once your past that it looses its charm. Same as birthdays.

i find christmas depressing, but society tries to make me feel guilty for not wanting to be part of it. At least the commercial side of it.
I live alone and am willingly dicconnected from my family apart from my dad who i've only really known for about 7years. hes my best mate and my harshest critic he totally supports me with my producing and we do rolling stones covers and make music together in his studio.
but... i jus cant imagine enjoying spending time with the rest of my family, feel like i'm adopted at times!! i subconciously cling to wanting to be different and outside the 'normal' (if that means anything) way of thinking and doing things.
admitidly its easy to fail at something and then say to yourself 'well i'm different and i chose to do it that way' but i guess it doesnt matter in the end, death is certain and i find closure and comfort in that.
anyway been goin on 4 a while so i'm off but like i probably said when i started this thread i dont like christmas but i dont enforce my view upon others if we were all the samre then this website would be fucking crap for one.

definitley man, for me xmas is all about having a few days off work, socialising with friends and family and making it an exciting time for neices, nephews and best friends kids etc.
I have never celebrated xmas from a religious point of view and dont have a list of stuff I want. I dont give pointless presents and I dont go over the top with decorations, lights, cards etc. I like to keep things low key - try to give things with thought and meaning and just enjoy being able to spend quality time with the people that I love. it may sound corny but its true.
