djiggy djaggy

depends on the mood i'm in Big Grin I listen drumnbass very broad. Mostly dig everything as long if it's got a big vibe and kickass beats Big Grin so that kinda rules out clownstep allreeady Tongue Big Grin

my all-time favorite style of d&b is the '99-2000-2001 tech&hardstep-sounds from the likes of Bad Company, Mampi Swift, Ed Rush&Optical, Dillinja, Konflict,...

I still like techy and dark-tunes but listening and spinning a lot of jump-up and funkier tunes too, ass long ass it got something original Bigup

i'm really feelin the formation camp especially zen,
although i could flip to some high contrast or new forms -roni if i wanted

a-sides i play alot cuirrently,

that reminds me does any one recommend a good sufficiant online viynl outlet cos i've been using juno records an i would prefer a strictly dnb shop rather than a supplier
any suggestions, apart from the obvious ones???

i voted jump up in the end, as this is from which i percieve all other styles of dnb

Anything hard and dark, but also some clownstep here and there (the good kind, Drumsound & SBS, not the Back 2 Basics crap) can't hurt too much. Digging some trance influenced stuff too, as long as it's still more DnB than trance and dark enough.

Only good clownstep i've heard this year was from Generation Dub. Really willing to dive into the deep end of it but there's just not that much quality with it lately. Some good clownstep tunes =
Generation Dub _ Deliverence EP (Formation), Total Science + Baron _ Monkey See, Monkey Do _ Baron Rmx (C.I.A.), Die + Clipz _ Fresh Evidence (Full Cycle)
If ya guys know any other good "clownstep" let me know.

My Mistake Oh yeah! I love Bandsaw + that "Danger" tune. I wanna buy Nature of the Beast but it seems like it's not worth the whole package. Maybe i'll give it another listen.

this subgrouping and segregating of drumnbass will eventualy be dnb's demise. This all started when some dj decided to call his taste in dnb a particular style just so the dj would seem important and would stick out. what is begining to happin is shows that are begining to be more strict on the overall sound, I like smooth moody tunes but i dont want to hear them all fukin night long. i want diversity within the sound. all subgrouping is doing is making dnb more marketable. so to answer on what is my fav?? my fav is drum n bass.

No, I don't thing having different styles, and defining them is a bad thing, just keep it general, don't invent a new style for each tune you make.

If I go to a party, I don't wanna hear all styles, I wanna hear only the dark and hard stuff, so if I know there will be liquid or clownstep all night, I won't be going...

Taxman 'Evasion' & 'The Rebate' on Propaganda, though I wouldn't call the last track clownstep, more a mixture of jump-up & hardstep

'Butt Ugly Martians' by Baron & Friction, wicked jump-up tune

those are some of the bouncy tunes I'm really feelin at the moment

Totally agree Bigup
Why do people always want to categorise stuff, I like drum and bass, there are good good and bad stuff in all of the categories, I intent to play and listen to anything I like, not just techstep tracks or hardstep or something Pleased

But ofcoz that's me Tongue

thats cool but not everyone wants to go out to a club and have that diversity of tunes played

plus alot of tunes sound so vastly different regarding levels espescially snare's

i mean if i was listening to a mix cd of 'drum n bass' and after listening to say an ed rush track or ram tune then the next one wouold be an ez rollers or latin or DJ marky one then for me that wouldnt just be keeping it fresh with some diversity, that would be totally taking down away the power and direction and ruining in some ways the experience i was having.

i like to be able to know the sort of style i will hear when i go out to a club but the thought of clownstep all night makes me a little queezy, lol

anyways its all music and thats what matters,
the scene's always been facing this 'dilema' jus roll with the times people....
peace to all of you

G Bigup
