Well, you can hook up Reason to Cubase via Rewire. Then it's the slave. You can hook up ReBirth to Reason via Rewire. Than it's the master. Is it possible to use Reason as master for other aps than just ReBirth? Like, use it as a sequencer for other aps?

And they seem hang on the no plugins/rewire-no other (read: not-propellerhead) software support policy in the forthcomming version 3, and probably even more future versions...

Indeed. And I don't think they profit a lot from it. People who use Reason now, won't stop using it when they do include that support, but people who don't use it because of that could be tempted to start using it then...

Reason is mostly allways a slave because it is used to generate and sample. You allways need to bump your reason into ableton or cooledit in seperate tracks. Hence why they set it up that way.
