does anyone have any good advice for cases of good ol` writers block?
like when you get to a point where you`re stuck in the track you`re working on....not knowing what to add???
please don`t answer with smoke a blunt or something or leave for a while and come back...these things only work sometimes...i`m looking for a formula or method....thanks

I had a writersblock 2 years ago (I haven't had one that bad since then, luckely) and after a few weeks of trying, I gave up, and just stopped producing for 2 months. Then I felth fresh and started a new track, which went really well: The Silence

Unfortunately, I too have a writer's block this period, and I just don't comply to a good idea of a tune.
Damn it people, something?

take a new save from your tune the way it it at this point
start searching for new samples, other samples, place them over your existing midi lines, try to find other drum kits
often a single sound can change a vibe in a tune
move bars/parts to other layers to get other vibes
plenty of things, but there isn't one that works on command
best thing is to step away from your sequencer for a few days/weeks/months
that's the best thing still.

start your music session with a sample search and dial in your synths first. dont worrie if you dont use all of them. just make sure you have plenty. then start building your track. the trick is not to get in it in the first place cuz gettin out of it is a bitch.

you have to ways to get out of creative blocks:
1 is to just quit it and start doing different things till you're pulled back. cause obviously if you have a block the fun is off in yourself. your inspiration is empty. fill it by doing whatever you want to do.
2 is to start getting inspired by listening to dnb. or even other types of music. study it. try to make the sounds they make. learn from it. usually you end up with a track that has little even to do with the track you based it upon. this is one of the things i used most when i was just startin out.
gluck!

i get that shit all the freaking time...waht i liek to do is to take a sample you absolutely hate, and just f*ck with it til you like it...belivee it or not some nice stuff comes out...and then jsut add it some where...also dont synchopan samples, try triggering all them in different sections (i do that sometimes just when im bored), also mix different genres in...not alot of people like trance and bass, but its always cool to have a really trance synth in htere sometimes...(thru the vie (john b remix) is a perfect example...if all else fails i really just dont do anything for ahwile...or scrap the track completely and strat over until it flwos...

Back in the day when I still made music a thing that always helped me was duplicating my MIDI drum tracks and start to transpose them, causing them to trigger unexpected sounds in my sampler or DM5, which gave me fresh ideas!
