Yep, you're right. Although it has been a dialect (which means an activly spoken variant of a main/by governmental rules set standardlanguage) for quite some time, it has slowly found its way into an official frame. Laws, public information, education,... were (i forgot the date) allowed to be written/documented/archived in the Fries language.
