Has anybody ever jammed on the Pioneer EFX 500 thingy? I'm lookin 4 something nice but cheap I can run my samples through when playing out. I also think that this could be perfect 4 my mc who could run his vocals through this contraption 2 give them a bit of echo. Looks sick but i've never layed salad fingers upon one of these grubby things before. Anybody got any info? Maybe something even better? Not lookin 2 spend 2 much ... maybe $300 - 400. Thanks Junglists.

Well, i've used it a few times and it is a very good effect unit, especially for performance & dj use.

But, u could also check out the korg kaos pad2.

link

I've got this baby, it's actually a sampler, but has a load of built-in effects.

Zoom's new pfx 9003 looks very nice too, but not sure if u can use it for line-level signals.

www.zoom.co.jp

prices:
EFX-500: about 500¤
kaos pad2: about 400¤
ST244: about 300¤
pfx 9003: about 200¤

The most value for money u will probably get from the korg, but it takes some time to get used to the control interface

Thank you djfreemc. I'll probably end up checking out that shit at the local Guitar Center later on today.
I've always been skeptic like of Zoom stuff but I also think I heard from someone that Bad Company has used Zoom products on their tracks before.

well, zoom is kinda specialized in guitar effects, not so much in dj/producer effect tools, but they do have some nice stuff.

Best thing u can do is indeed go to a shop and check out every effect box u can.

Oh I forgot one, but again not really easy to control: the alesis air fx.

Very cool. Thanks G. Anything called the Tweakalizer is my kinda piece of equipment. I'm really feelin the big ole tap buttion on the Pioneer so my mc can effortlessly walk up and tap his way into stardom and plus it matches my mixer. Do you own or have you used the Tweakalizer? Can u give me a little inside information on it other than what the website offers?

Maybe u can find some more about it here

At first sight it looks quite "standard" to me, but I've learned not to judge gear before laying my hands on it, so never mind...

I'm also afraid that if I run my sound through anything other than Pioneer that it's going to sound shitty. I used 2 use a Numark mixer and everything sounded like poop logs through it. Damn it! I wish I could just borrow it from the store for a night 2 see what the matter is. Thanks again meng.
