So, this is my entry for the Music V2 remix compo of LA Abstract Rec's 2Sence & Grace's plate The Storm (jeez, what a sentence)
I wanted to make something else than the obvious Tramen + Reece remix, so I started with making some none tramen breaks and adding some non reece basslines. But I kept a reece in there too, for good reference
And it's even quite similar to the original
Anyway, the intro was quite hard to get right. I wanted the opera samples to sound much better than in the original (in which they quite sucked imo), so I gave them a much opener feel. I did the same for the choir samples I added. I wanted them open and full. I think I did a quite good job at that...
So then after the intro I needed a drop. Took my drums and reece and booming bassline and did some stuff with that... But it became boring quite fast, so I added 2 more basslines and a new set of drums... and I layered some rides, hats, horizons and, after all, a tramen... which you won't notice by the way
Well, all this just to say I had a very hard time on thisone, I really needed the full two months on thisone to get close to what I wanted...
Not completely satisfied with the mixdown though, could sound better imo. Well, maybe I'll work on it some more after this.
I already told you. This is fucking awesome.
Totally like it. Apart from the somehow cheesy trancy leads (i know they're - together with the choir - the only original samples left) this track is fucking awesome.
Drums+bass are superb, b-key style
Especially the basses come through like a raging bull on xtc.
Panned delay on crash/cymbal = ok
Seems that boombastiq choirs are in, these days.
I've heard so many tunes released on good labels that are 5 times worse. Time to get it out in the open.

Well, I've already descided that if I don't win, I ditch the intro and the breakdown and replace it with something not in the original... tada, new track. And it probably won't have the trancey stuff

well produced as always. yeah man the breakz and drums are wicked boooyah. cool cool cool song. the tranzy stuff is just the thing that doesnt make me give you a 5.
so its gonna be a 4,5/5.

This is definitely a little Jonny. I like this track alot. Sounds like something my buddy Nick would go crazy about. I haven't heard the original but i'm really feelin the "break!" sample before the beats n bass come in.
Reminds me of Outbreak a bit maybe?

I already started reviewing this but got interrupted, hopefully I make it to the end of this one.
The intro is completely gripping my soul, and it would sound very impressive on a big sound system, big up for that!!
The bass is HUGE!! Maybe a bit too much, those poor subwoofer amplifiers will break a sweat
For the rest it's a wonderfully made track, unfortunately I don't know the original so I can't tell which parts are made by you and which are leeched from the original.
