I almost broke the arm of me turntable last night
when i was preforming ,a little bit to enthousiastic, a rewind.
So be carefull!!!!!!
Mayby I should quit spliffing major spliffs
or place me turntable with the arm in front of me
so consider this as a tip

Hèhèhè, what a sight it would be...
The solution you thought of yourself seems the most preferable to me.
If anything helps for a start then it's turning your decks with the pitch-control at the top-side. Scratching works better that way to as you probably already knew. (what a rhyme
).
It's just a bit awkward to mix and control your pitch, with th risk of bumpin' into the arm with horrible effects.
Just have fun and maybe tou're the inventor of somethin' revolutionary that way...

how about doing more mixes and less rewinds...
that can really kill the atmosphere for me ... for example andy c spinning @ inside last year ... 4 rewinds on 1 track??????????
on the other hand... somtimes it can be nice and as someone already suggested.. placing the arms vertically is already a solution to prevent accidents

i remember baron rewinding twist em out (at silo 15/10/02) also 4 times
it's indeed too much
one rewind could raise up the atmosphere to the max, but too much ain't cool
i think this discussion has been done a lot before ...(by the way
)

i realy hate rewindz
most of the time it soundz like the dj pressed the wrong button. althoug it can add 2the atmosphere but those are rare.i personaly stick with clean mix'n.

erm n/o but why do you place your TT's with the arm at your side, if you're into scratching (a lot) then put them battle mode, with the arm far away, but the nicest and easiest way to mix is still oldskool style
(as in placing your tt's the way they're supposed to be, as in power knob left, arm & pitch right ...
)
it's also takes the largest amount of space on your desk, but hey, homework sucks anyway
