Hello ,

Because it is very quiet on the topic "organising a dnb party " I will make a new topic with my proposal .
Why not organizing a dnb party in the form of an award night .
Award for best mc used in track , award for best track produced and best dj-set of a resident on this site ,...
And offcourse a lot of blasting dj-sets thats played by residents here and one big act .

What do you think?

i think it's a bit early for that

not that many tunes have been released
i think awards are achievements

i'm in , i want to help...

usualy party plans start with:

1. LOCATION
2. DATE
3. NAMES
4. AIM ( wether it has to be real big or just a " normal " party , i suggest a realistic approach, nobody wants to tear his pants on things like this... with which I mean , don't give a party where nobody can go easily, I mean like lichtervelde or something, bad idea ; let it be brussels or something)

I stiil thinks that """"award"""" thing very possible .
It are almost al residents who will win and it are just 4-5 awards .
Pick one big name , start with a belgian one like gamorahsound or millenium kru , ...
Make a party for 500 peeps .Thats a good start .

The Zoo is a a nice place, but it's not very central... That's a bit of a prob when you are organising it with peepz from all over the country I think.

The award thing, dno, don't like it that at all. And who is going to decide which awards, and who we're gonna give em? Dno - sounds like a messy thing to me.

For financial stuff & material, I could help, and there were also others here that could help there.

Agree with him mostly. Date & location are very related most of the time (availability of location). Also the names, dno, we have a couple of DJ's hanging around here, and in the previous thread one of the ideas was to give a party with only artists who hang around here...
The aim will be a small/medium party I guess, at least for the first edition (if there were to come more that is).
The biggest problem atm is that there is NO organisation. Or at least not a clear-one. First of all we need a set of clear responsabilities, rules and agreements on a bunch of stuff. And that's where organizing a party starts imho Smile

I'd say; trow that party in mechelen that's pretty central isn't it?

But in Mechelen city you need a lot of security... Even the smallest cafe has at least one security guard at the door once after 9, and even that doesn't guarantee anything. I am certainly not pro-VB, but there sure is a serious problem on that level in Mechelen, which causes everyone there to vote for them Frown

The current politicians there don't do a thing about it, and then everybody's amazed that the VB keeps winning votes (not that they could solve the problem, they'll only make it worse I'm afraid)

It's not that far from me, and have a couple of friends living there, but I really don't like Mechelen to go out to. That's just my opinion.

Last time we agreed Ghent was good since there are a couple of cheap and nice locations, there is a scene and it is very acessibe by car and public transport...

For the location, Ghent is nice for people coming from W-Vl, O-Vl, A'pen & Bxls, but from Limburg it's a long trip to get there. It is a good location, but I don't think we should immediately exclude Bxls and A'pen, which are pritty central also...
I think Ghent should be the first choice, since it has the big advantage that you have a rather large local public, but don't look at Ghent only.

For organising stuff, I'll help there if I have time, just finished a big project @ work (well, parts of the testing remains, tomorrow is the official deadline, and see no probz there), so I should get more free time (even take some holidays - finally Big Grin

), but I never know what en when's the next deadline ( that's the business I'm in Smile

)
